JEE Advanced 2022-2023 Eligibility Criteria

 

All candidates appearing in JEE Advanced 2022-2023 must fulfil the following eligibility criteria simultaneously:

 

Criteria 1: Performance in JEE Main 2022

The candidate must be among the top 2,50,000 candidates (for all categories) in B.E./B.Tech. Paper of JEE (Main) 2022.

Note: 5% horizontal reservation is available for PwD candidates in each category. 

 

Criteria 2: Age Limit 

The candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1997.  SC, ST, and PwD candidates are given five years age relaxation. 

 

Criteria 3: Number of attempts

A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) maximum of two times in two consecutive years.

 

Criterion 4 - Appearance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination

A candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2021 or 2022 with the subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. 

 

Criterion 5 – Earlier admission at IITs

A candidate should NOT have been admitted to an IIT irrespective of whether or not the candidate continued in the program OR accepted an IIT seat by reporting “online” / at a “reporting centre” in the past. Candidates whose admission to IITs was cancelled (for whatever reason) after joining any IIT are also NOT eligible to appear for JEE (Advanced) 2022.

JEE Advanced 2022-2023 Paper Pattern

 

JEE Advanced includes two papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2), both of 3 hours duration each. The candidates have to appear in both the papers. Each paper includes three sections - Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. Both these papers are designed to judge the conceptual knowledge of the students along with analytical, aptitude, and critical thinking skills of the students. Here are some key points about the JEE 2Advanced 2022 that you must note:

 

  • Each paper will have 18 questions based on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • There will be three types of questions in paper 1 - MCQs with single correct option, MCQs where more than one option is correct, and numerical value answer-type questions. 
  • There will be three types of questions in this paper 2 - MCQs with single correct option, numerical value answer type questions and single-digit answer type questions. 
  • In some questions, there is negative marking except for the numerical value answer-type questions.

JEE Advanced 2022-2023 Application Form

 

The application form for JEE Advanced 2022 will be available on the official website of JEE from 7th August 2022. Students can fill the application forms until 11th August 2022. The application form for JEE Advanced 2022 can be submitted via online mode only. You will be required with the following documents while filling out the application form:

  • 12th or equivalent certificate
  • Category certificate (if required)
  • PwD certificate (if required)
  • Date of Birth proof (D.O.B proof)
  • PIO/ OCI certificate

JEE Advanced 2022-2023 Counselling Process

 

JEE Advanced candidates who have cleared the exam and are eligible for admission will be given a specific timeframe to fill in their choices about the courses and colleges. There will be six counselling rounds in online mode for admissions through JEE Advanced 2022. The whole process of counselling and seat allotment is conducted by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). The counselling process of JEE Advanced 2022 will begin from September 12 2022. However, the exact dates of mock seat allocation and the corresponding counselling rounds is not provided by JoSAA yet. Students must stay tuned with the askIITians website for more updates on JEE Advanced 2022-2023 counselling process.

Units and dimensions, dimensional analysis; least count, significant figures; Methods of measurement and error analysis for physical quantities pertaining to the following experiments: Experiments based on using Vernier callipers and screw gauge (micrometre), Determination of g using simple pendulum, Young’s modulus by Searle’s method, Specific heat of a liquid using calorimeter, focal length of a concave mirror and a convex lens using u-v method, Speed of sound using resonance column, Verification of Ohm’s law using voltmeter and ammeter, and specific resistance of the material of a wire using a metre bridge and a post office box.

Mechanics:
