All About How to Prepare for IIT JEE Physics Paper

Aspirants of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), National Institute of Technology (NIT) or any state or centrally- funded institute for a B.Tech degree are expected to crack the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) which is conducted in two parts- JEE Main and JEE Advanced. The top 150000 clearing the JEE Mains are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced.

In the exam pattern currently, Physics is the first section in the paper. This section and subject is considered as a highly competitive section and hence getting it right from the first go should be an aspirant’s aim. We are presenting some tips and suggestions that could help you prepare for the IIT JEE 2014 Physics paper.

  • Mechanics –Even though it is not the most scoring topic of Physics, this topic still forms the major portion in terms of marks. Hence, candidates should pay heed to Mechanics.  One should also concentrate more on scoring topics like Optics, Magnetism and Electricity.

  • Kinematics –Under Mechanics, Kinematics and Particle Dynamics are the important topics. Since questions from these topics are generally asked in the exam, one should revise these topics thoroughly.

  • Electricity –Going as per the general trends, Magnetism, Mechanics and Electricity are the most important topics in terms of the number of questions asked in the previous year’s papers.

  • Thermodynamics – This is important from both Physics and Chemistry perspective.
