JEE Main Counselling Dates 2022

The JEE Main 2022 counselling schedule will be announced soon by the authorities. Candidates who have qualified in the entrance examination will be eligible to participate in the counselling process. The counselling process will include various steps like registration, document verification, choice filling, seat allotment etc.

The counselling process will be conducted in online mode and the candidates will be required to provide their preferences for the colleges and courses they wish to pursue. The seat allotment will be done based on the candidate’s merit rank and preferences.

The counselling process for JEE Main 2022 exam will be conducted by the JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority). The counselling process is expected to begin in September 2022 - after the JEE Advanced, 2022 is held on August 28, 2022. JoSAA will conduct six rounds of counselling for the NIT+ system. After that, if seats remain vacant, CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board) will conduct two special rounds of counselling to fill the remaining vacant seats.

The final allotment of seats is expected to take place in November 2022.

• The fee structure of the college: Make sure to choose a college that you can afford. NITs charge ₹62,500 per semester if the family income of students is above 5 lakh. Those whose family income is between 1 and 5 lakh will have to pay ₹20,834. Those whose family income is less than 1 lakh or are from SC, ST and PwD categories do not have to pay anything.
  At IIIT Delhi, students have to pay ₹2,01,100 per semester, including refundable caution money of ₹10,000, one-time fees of ₹2,000, tuition fee per semester of 1,87,500, other fees per semester of ₹500, and annual fees of ₹1,100. Students with a family income between 6 and 8 lakh rupees and the last school fee paid less than 0.6 lakh rupees per annum can avail of a 25% fee waiver. Those whose family income is up to 6 lakh rupees and the last school fee paid less than 0.45 lakh rupees per annum can avail of a 50% fee waiver. Students who come from BPL (Below the Poverty Line) families do not have to pay anything.
  So, look at how much fees you have to pay and whether you are eligible for any fee waiver before making your choice.

• The location of the college: Another thing to consider is the location of the college. Make sure to choose a college that is located in a city or town that you are comfortable living in.
  Some students prefer to stay close to their hometown while others prefer to stay in a big city with better infrastructure as well as job and placement opportunities. So, think about what would work better for you before making your choice.
