JEE Advanced 2014 to be held on May 25

JEE Advanced 2014 exam dateNew Delhi: According to the JEE Advanced 2014 schedule released by the Joint Admission Board (JAB) of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), JEE Advanced 2014 exam will be held on May 25, 2014 – a week earlier than last year.

The application process for the exam was fully online this year catapulting JEE Advanced 2014 to the position of being the first major competitive exam in India to provide this facility.

Unlike JEE Main 2014 which will be conducted in both the offline and online mode, JEE Advanced 2014 exam will be conducted only in the paper-and-pencil mode.

Held exclusively for admission to IITs and ISM Dhanbad, IIT JEE 2014 will have two papers:

  • Paper 1 will held from 9 am to 12 noon, and

  • Paper 2 will be held in the second session from 2 pm to 5 pm.

Both the papers will have multiple-choice and objective-type questions.

16 lakh students expected to appear for JEE 2014

New Delhi: The states of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Odisha have dissolved their respective state entrance exams and stepped in the JEE examination system. It means that more students are likely to appear for JEE Main 2014.

Last year, about 14 lakh students had appeared for JEE Main exam. Since the partner states will also use JEE Main results for admission to the state-level engineering colleges, the number of applicants is likely to increase this year and touch the 16 lakh mark!

  • Last date to apply for JEE extended

New Delhi: The application submission deadline to fill the JEE Main application form was extended from December 26, 2013 to January 6, 2014.

The application process for the exam started from November 15, 2013. CBSE had also set up facilitation centers to facilitate students with the online application process for free.

  • Those who qualify for JEE Advanced 2014 will be allowed a second chance next year

New Delhi: Like last year, only Top 1,50,000 rank holders from various JEE Main 2014 lists will be eligible to take JEE Advanced 2014 and compete for seats in IITs. However, the good news is that the JEE Main rank will be valid for two years from now on. It means that those who make it to the 1.5 lakh candidates eligible for IIT JEE 2014 exam will be allowed to sit for the JEE Advanced 2015 exam if they are not able to make it to seats in their coveted course this year.

Important dates for JEE Advanced 2014 and its application procedure has also been announced.
