The zonal IITs- IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee- are jointly going to conduct the JEE (Advanced) – 2013 on Sunday, 2 June, 2013.
The IIT JEE 2013 news outlines that the admission test for all the centrally funded government institutions will be held in two phases 2013 onwards. These two phases would be JEE Main and JEE Advanced. The JEE Main is an equivalent of AIEEE and the JEE Advanced is that of IIT JEE.
According to the IIT news 2013, only the top 1,50,000 candidates (including all categories) will qualify to appear in the JEE ADVANCED 2013 examination based on the performance in the JEE MAIN 2013. However, those of you who seek to study at NITs will not have to sit for the JEE Advance test.
The latest news on IIT JEE 2013 is that Class XII results will be given some weightage as well. To be eligible for admission in IIT, candidates must be among the top 20% scorers in their respective boards. For the purposes of preparation of final admission list, Class XII board exam scores [normalized] will have 40% weight-age and 60% weight-age to the scores in JEE Advanced test will be given. Pattern of Examination:
The JEE (Advanced) will have two question papers, each of three hours duration. The students will receive two bilingual (in English and Hindi) question papers with three separate sections on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics each. The questions will be of objective types and incorrect answers will be awarded negative marks in some sections.
Application form for JEE Advanced 2013:
The online application for JEE (Advanced) – 2013 will be available from Thursday, November 8, 2012 to Saturday, December 15, 2012. Any candidate who wants to appear for IIT JEE 2013 examination must appear for the JEE Main 2013, Paper-1. Online application form will be available at the website http://www.jeemain-edu.in/.
