ASKIITIANS EXPERT’S VIEW

askIITians IIT JEE expert’s panel analyzed both the papers and found following observations.

· Paper-1 was relatively easy as compared to Paper-2.

· Mathematics was easier as compared to Physics and Chemistry.

· Paper-2 Physics was very tough, Chemistry was also above average.

Overall this year the difficulty level was higher than that of the last year’s paper, and this was only because of paper-2.

· Question from Modern Physics (Comprehension in paper-2) was really very critical from the

· point of view of students.

· Class XI & Class XII syllabus were given almost similar weightage in Physics and Mathematics but in Chemistry the weightage to class XII as much higher than that of class XI

· Some questions were mistake prone which might have made the students confused.

· The students having in depth knowledge of subject are having good chance of getting qualified.

· Multiple Correct Options type questions were having very high weightage (32%) where the probability of loosing marks is very high.

· The paper-1 was below expectation and paper -2 was upto the expectation.

· The expert panel expects that this year the cut-off will be at lower side.

· The score of 160 - 165 might be a safe score in IIT JEE-2012.
