If the vectors represented by the sides AB and BC of the regular hexagon ABCDEF be a and b then the vector represented by AE will be

we know that in regular haxagon  AD =2BC

                                                    =2b

and DE =-AB

          =-a

 and  AE=AD +DE

            =2b -a
