A thermally insulated closed copper vessel contains water at 15 degree celsius .When the vessel is shaken vigourously for 15 minutes the temperature rises to 17 degree.Mass of the vessel is 100gm and that of water is 200 gm.The specific heat capacities of copper and water are 420 J/Kg-K and 4200 J/Kg-K resp.Neglect any thermal expansion.calculate-1)Internal energy of the system and 2)work done on the system.

Dear Allina,

Ans:- The change in temp is =2 k

Hence the change in internal energy is=(.1*420*2)+(.28*4200*2) J

                                                    =2436 J

As the vol of the vessel is constsnt and thermal expansion and hence no external Work done.
