propane 1,2,3 triol has the maximum and thus strongest hydrogen bonding
Liquid propane-1,2,3-triol (glycerol) has the structure HOCH2CH(OH)CH2OH (Mr= 92), so with its triple hydrogen bonding sites the glycerol - water interactions are strong fully miscible, despite being as bulky as pentan-1-ol on a molecular mass basis.
