Osmotic pressure arises when two solutions of different concentrations,or a pure solvent and a solution are separated by a semipermeable membrane. Then molecules can pass through the membrane, migrate from the side of higher concentration to the side of lower concentration through a process which is known as osmosis. The pressure required to stop this process of osmosis is called as osmotic pressure.
The solution which is more concentrated with respect to other will have more osmotic pressure and such a solution is reffered to as hypertonic solution. While the solution which is less concentrated with respect to other possesss less osmotic pressure and such solution is hypotonic solution. Thus by observing the different concentrations we can find the solution having highest osmotic pressure. The one which is more concentrated will have the highest value of osmotic pressure. As the value of concentation of solutions decreases, value of osmotic pressure will also decreases.
