Cations are always smaller than their parent atoms this is because they have lesser electrons, while their nuclear charge remains the same. The remaining electrons are, therefore held more tightly by the protons in the nucleus and thus their radii.are smaller than the parent atoms. This is opposite in case of anions. Anions are always larger than their parent atomsbecause the addition of 1 or more electrons would result in increased repulsion among the electrons and a decrease in the effective nuclear charge.

a cation is formed by loss of electron which carrying a positive charge. thr electron is lossed from outrrmost shell so the size of the atim is decrease

Cations are smaller in size because they are formed by loss of electrons and anions are larger in size because they are formed by the gain of electrons.

A cation has a fewer number of electrons than its parent atom, while its nuclear chargeΒ
remains the same. As a result, the attraction of electrons to the nucleus is more in aΒ
cation than in its parent atom. Therefore, a cation is smaller in size than its parent atom.Β
On the other hand, an anion has one or more electrons than its parent atom, resulting inΒ
an increased repulsion among the electrons and a decrease in the effective nuclearΒ
charge. As a result, the distance between the valence electrons and the nucleus is moreΒ
in anions than in it’s the parent atom. Hence, an anion is larger in radius than its parentΒ
atom.

Cation are smaller as there is loss of electron.but proton remains same thus  the power of that proton gets divided into other proton.hence the proton-electron attraction increases i.e the nuclear charge increases. Hence cation are smaller than the corresponding atoms.😘😘😘😘

Because isoelectronic species have different nuclear charge due to the presence of different number of proton (positive change )

cations are always smaller than therir parent atom this is because cations are formed by losing electrons but their nucleus charge remain same hence it is easy to nucles to holdΒ  elecrons hence forces of attraction increases as a result cations are smaller than their parent atoms …
anion are always larger than their parent atom this is because anions are formed by gaining an electron but the nuclear charge remain same hence it is difficult to nutrons to all these electrons hence forces of attraction decreases and their size increases.

A cation is formed by loss of one or more electron from gaseous atom.In the cation in the nuclear charge remains the same as the parent atom but the number of atom decrease. This causes a decrease in size of the cation formed.Β

Anions are always larger than their parent atoms because the addition of 1 or more electrons would result in an increased repulsion among the electrons and a decrease in the effective nuclear charge. Thus increasing its size.

A cation is smaller in size than its parent atom because of effective nuclear charge and lesser sheilding effect.
An anion is begger in size than its parent atom because of weak nuclear charge and strong sheilding effect.Β

Cation is a positively charged atom form when atom donate its electrons in order to gain estability
when amy atom loss or donate its elctron the atom become positively charged because In neutral atom protons and neutrons are equal in no. Due which ther are neutral ,but when atom loss elctron the negatively charged elctron decreases and protons remain same so, it leads to formation of cation or positive ionΒ
positive and negative charge aatract each other so,the attraction of nucleus to the elctron become increases leads to decrease in size of atom but,
In anion negative charge increases due to gain of elctron and this negative charge (electron) repel each other because same charge repell each other so, the size of the negative ion or anion increasesΒ
Β
Hence, the cation has small size than anion
