Electron present in a single electron specie jumps from energy level 3 to 1.Emitted photons when passed through a sample containing excited He+ ion causes further excitation to some higher energy level.Determine(i) the atomic number of the single electron specie.(ii)principal quantum number of initial excited level & higher energy level of He+.

Use the formula -13.6 x Z2 (1/n12 – 1/n2 2) = hv where n1 =3, n2=1
here hv= -13.6 x 4 (1/n12 – 1/n2 2)
calculate Z, n1 and n2 from this.
