in phenolf after the loss of h+(it should release h+ to show acidic behaviour) the o- is in conjugation with the benzene ring making it more stable than the structure you get after the loss of h+ in ethyl alcohol. so as to get more stability phenol losses h+ faster than ethyl alcohol ☺
