All matter, including mineral gems, is comprised of molecules, and all iotas are comprised of three primary particles: protons, neutrons, and electrons.  protons are decidedly charged, neutrons are uncharged and electrons are contrarily charged. The negative charge of one electron adjusts the positive charge of one proton. Both protons and neutrons have a mass of 1, while electrons have no mass.
