I am sorry , there are no such tricks to learn that , all things are easy i think . 
the reactions are well versed if u practiced that once . and the structure , if u can remember the glucose one , then u can do all of the other by simple rearrengement . 
and about the names , protein acid staructure , primary , secondary structure , they are all easy , 
just once read the ncert , it explains everything in precise manner , and if any doubt comes in drawing the structure , then let me know . 
but frst remember the glucose . then remember which one is alpha and which one is bita position , 
after that try to do the structure .
