there are thousand compounds existing in nature , so, giving explanation here is not possible for all of them , i am writting the correct approach how u have to draw the structure , 
1- frst of all choose the central atom / ion , more electronegative atom will be more preferrable for it . 
2- then count the no of valence electron of the central atom / ion as well as the other atoms . 
3- then just represent one valence electron as one dott , 
thats simple , the lewis structure is all about that , 
u can refer to askiitians study materiual for more details , in case of any doubt let me know
