dear ankesh
tautamerism are isomers  of a compound which diffre only in the position of proton and electrons , the carbon skeleton of a compound is unchanged , so, u need to check these carbon skeleton first ,
a reaction which involves simple proton transfer in an intramolecular fashion are called as tautamerism .

Hy ankesh... Here is the way from which you can directly check... The compound should have an electron withdrawing group like No2,ketone,alochol, CN etc.. Then it must have at least one alpha hydrogen and you should check the stability of the compound after shifting the hydrogen if the product after tautomerism is less stable than reactant then it will not show tautomerism... Hope U like it...
