Though alkyl halides are polar, they still dissolve in non polar solvents. Can anyone please give me a a good reason? Thanks.

because alkyl part is hydrophobic n forms weak wanderwaal bonds with non polar solvents. so bigger the alkyl part less soluble in water n more in non polar solvent
