From the relative velocity concept,
The net horizontal velocity of the projectile ball becomes => 16 – 10 => 6i
and the vertical velcity becomes that is => 12j
The resulatnt velicy beocmes => root(144 + 36) => root(180)
Hence the Range in case becomes =>  R = 2u/g => 2*root(180)/g => root(180)/5 => 2.68328 meter.
