the Range to be travelld by the projectile is L

let the velocity be 'u' , it is fired at an angle theta ,

so calculate the final energy at the starting point of the semicircular hollow ring ,where the projectile goes into the ring ,

the energy at which it enters should be equal to the energy at the point at which it exits,

at the exiting point the velocity is zero , range again has to L

so calculate the velocity , with the two equations

the range is the same , you know the radius of the semicircular ring energy equations have to be the same

equate them , you will get the answer ~
