Hi

Find the minimum velocity in y direction by taking the final velocity at y=y as zero, then calclate the time taken(T) to reach there by using the

eq. s= ut +/2 at2.  After that calculate the velocity in x direction by dividing x by the time taken(T) to reach y.

The two components obtained are added vectorially to get the minimum velocity to reach pt x,y .
