equation of motion of pendulam is x = Asinwt          (for small displacements)

A = amplitude of motion ...

 x = Asinwt          .............1

v(velocity) = dx/dt = Awcoswt

a(accleration) = dv/dt = -Aw2sinwt    ..............2

now accleration is maximum when sinwt = 1 or -1 ..

         sinwt = + or - 1

now , position when sinwt = + or -1 is

 x = A or -A                  (from eq 1)

so maximum accleration is at extream  positions
