A SMOOTH SPHERE OF RADIUS R is made to translate in a straight line with a constant acceleration a=g.A particle kept on the top of the sphere is released from there at zero velocity w.r.t. the sphere. find the speed of the particle w.r.t. the sphere as a function of "theta" as it slides down ??????? very urgenttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt.......................

DEAR RAJAN JHA,

according to sphere's frame of reference

mg(sinØ+cosØ)= mv dv / r dØ

therefore

v=(2rg(cosØ - sinØ  - 1 ))1/2
