A flowerpot falls from a windowsill 25.0 m above the sidewalk.

(a) how fast is the flowerpot moving when it strikes the ground?

(b) how much time does a passerby on the sidewalk below have to move out of the
        way before the flowerpot hits the ground?

6 years ago

Answers : (1)

t is the time taken by flower pot to reach the bottom

     t= sqrt2s/g=sqrt5

 now using   v=u +at

                  v=10sqrt5 m/s (velocity with which flower pot hits the ground)

But the force was not given with the question. There was no numerical value, just ‘F’. I’d be happy if you gave me the shortcut, though.
