Dear Vikas

In a simple way you can define

"If the work done by a force depends only on the initial and final states and not on the path taken, then it is a conservative force."

Examples of conservative force

1 force of gravity
2 coulomb's force in electrostatics
3 the elastic force in a spring

conservative forces are those in which the work done does not depend on path... eg gravitational forces are conservative in nature.... as if we lift a block directly to the building the work done in this case is same as we lift a block through stairs....
