sir if we push a sphere by applying a force tangentially then y does it comes back after going a bit distance? is it due to inertia? or is it due to the torque? or is there any other reason?? i felt this question was quite nice,,,,,if there is a mistake in the question then sorry coz i myself made this one.

Hi Aalind,

The question is Incorrect.

If all surfaces are smooth then the sphere will never come back.

On applicaton of tangential force it will start moving forward with some accelration and start rotating also about its centre.

You need to have force acting in opposite direction which should be greater than applied force to make it come back.

Please feel free to ask as many questions you have.
