Hi

In these type of questions use conservation of angular momentum about axis of rotation

For ring I = MR2

use

I1w1 = I2 w2                   where  M = 2g           and       m = 5g

=> MR2 ∏ = (MR2 + 2mR2) w

=> 2∏ = (2+2*5)w

=> w = 2∏/12 = ∏/6 rad/sec
