All the energy used by the body is stored in ATP molecules. ATP stands for Adenosine Triphosphate which means there is an adenosine molecule with 3 phosphate molecules attached to it. Before it can be used by the human body, the starch has to be converted to sugar and sugar can create ATP. When the phosphate breaks off, then they release the energy.
