I have secured 3542 rank (obc) in jee advanced . Is it possible that I may get admission in a branch that had closing rank of 2500-3000 last year.what variations in the closing ranks can be expected or will it be almost same as of last year? Some say that u can expect 30-40% variation. is it true?

Yes, variabtion is obvious as because of the change in the demand in the market, the preferences changes. However for core branches like CS, Mech, EE this trend does not change by more percentage.
