what rank should i aim for so that i can get admission in any indian institute of technologyy

If you want to get into IIT's which are there from the beginning i.e.
IIT Kharagpur
IIT Kanpur
IIT Delhi
IIT Bombay
IIT Roorkee
IIT Madras
IIT Guwahati
Then you must aim your rank atleast below 3,500.
Because of the newly formed IIT's the rank you need to get to get admission is constantly changing and as per last year you have to get upto 7000 or so to get a decent branch.
