The cut off mark is always on the total and not on the subjects. The first criteria is the total marks and in this if you do not have subject minimum , you will losse your rank.

Though you have subject minimum , you could not score the minimum total score required to qualify. And do not loose heart , IIT is not the final word in the world. Take it as a challenge and study well in future.

Hope it is clear.
