its all about valency , so, its depend upon to which element nitrogen can bind with , with oxygen it can for valency from +1 to  + 5 
so, it can form 6 principle oxides , the formula for oxide is depend upon valency in which nitrogen is combined with oxygen hence , the formula will ne n20 here and its not skeletal due to bond angle arrengement and presence of lone pair electron , and dinitrogen oxide is n2o3 , 
so, valency will be the imp factor here to consider about
