What is electrode potential? Li ion/ Li has the most negetave electrode potential. Therefore lithum has the highest tendency to loose electron . In case of electro postitive or metalic character , alkali metals are strongly metalic character . Wich means that they have a strong tendency to loose electrons . The tendency to loose electron increases from LI to Cs. a & b are paradox statement , can any one give me the difference.

Hello student
Electrode potential is thepotential difference between electrode and solution: the potential difference produced between an electrode composed of a given chemical element and the solution in which it is immersed .
Both the statements are correct. Alkali metals have highest negative value of electrode potential among respected period. But among the alkali metals too, Li hase highest negative value of electrode potential.
