The order of electronegativity is F >O>N. Hence, Nitrogen(E.N 3) is one of the most electronegative element. When drawing the structure of a compound (Lewis , etc.) the element with lowest electronegativity is placed at the centre and acts as a central atom. The electronegativity of sodium is much lesser than that of nitrogen . Hence it is placed at the centre and nitrogen surrounds it.
