I have found that cfse is large when the central atom belongs to 5d series rather than 3d series. Can you explain why it is so?

A result of Crystal Field Theory is that the circulation of electrons in the d orbitals can prompt adjustment for some electron designs.
It is a straightforward matter to compute this adjustment since all that is required is the electron setup.
For an octahedral complex, an electron in the more steady t2g subset is dealt with as contributing - 2/5δ though an electron in the higher vitality eg subset adds to a destabilization of +3/5δ.
