The periodic table is a tabular arrangement of the chemical elements, ordered by their atomic number (number of protons), electron configurations, and recurring chemical properties. This ordering shows periodic trends, such as elements with similar behaviour in the same column.
in periodic table ,there are 18 groups 7 periods.
each group showing similar properties
periodic table classified into 4 blocks.S,P,D and F
S block elements are in arranged in left side of periodic table (1A,2A)
its valence shell electronic configurations of s block is ns1 to ns2
S block elements are very reactive metals
its names are alkali metals and alkaline earth metals
most of the s block elements are metals
P block elements are arranged in right side  of the periodic table
p block elements are 6 groups
its valence shell electronic configuration is ns2 np1 – ns2 np6
these elements are three types, metals, non metals, metalloids
D block elements are arranged in center of the periodic table
its valence shell electronic configuration is ns2 np6 (n-1)1-10
these elements are also called TRANSITION METALS
most of the d block elements are non metals
F block elements are arranged in below the periodic table
these elements are also called INNER TRANSITION METALS
its valence shell electronic configuration is (n-2)f1-14 (n-1)1-10 ns1-2.
modern periodic table is developed by mosle.
before him, newlonds, dobereiner, mendeleev tries to developed it

@ soukath
periodic table starts from long ago ,
frst of all its started by doberiners triad , he arrenged the elements in 3 groups called as triad , and after that , he observed that the atomic mass of the middle element is the avg of the other two ,
so, his table was correct upto some extent and not fully , so, its regretted ,
and after that newlands arrenged the known elements in the form of octaves and told that 1st element have simmilar properties of that of eighth element in an notye of music ,
but that is true upto atomic no 20
after that mandaleevs came into picture and gave his model , he told the properties are the periodic function of the atomic mass .
his table was particlly correc t but due to the isotopes that fails ,
and then new periodic table came into picture ,
HOPE IT CLEARS
ALL THE BEST ..
