Al2O3  is insoluble in water, because of its crystalline form, called corundum or α-aluminium oxide, its hardness makes it suitable for use as an abrasive and as a component in cutting tools

it has high lattice energy and low heat of hydration. so it insoluble in water and its formula is al2o3

it is not very reactive. strong triple bonds makes it very strong. as aluminum gives three electrons to oxygen per atom the bonding is very strong and hence it can not dissolve.
