They are protons and neutrons. Protons have an atomic mass of 1 and a positive charge while neutrons have an atomic mass of 1 and are neutral.

The two substances found in the nucleus of an atom are Neutrons and Protons.They are also reffers to as "Nucleons" as they reside in the nucleus of an atom!Proton has a positive charge while neutrons are electrically neutral!
The proton has a charge of +1 elementary charge!Their mass by convention is said to be 1.

neutrons too have a mass of 1
