what is the effect on heating FeSo4

6 years ago

Answers : (1)

Dear koushik,

First, it loses its water of crystallisation, giving 10moles of water and one mole of FeSO4.
After that, the FeSO4 starts to decompose, giving off sulfur dioxide, sulfur trioxide, and leaving iron (III) oxide residue.

2FeSO4 -> Fe2O3 + SO2 + SO3
