IMMEDIATELY take off the lab coat. and immerse in a bowl of water, with possibly limewater dissolved in it . The limewater neutralises the acid.

In an emergency wash with plenty of water - dilution. Don't worry if he gets wet - it happens.

If he gets acid on the skin plenty of water and keep on using water until any burning/corrosion sensation has stopped.

For major acid spills on to the clothes and/or skin, there should be an emergency shower in the lab or adjacent to the lab. Stand under it and turn the shower on!!!!

You'll get thoroughly wet , but that's better than having a permanent burn/corrosion mark on the skin.

Seek medical advice - hospital A&E.

Mineral acids, such as Sulphuric Acid , Hydrochloric Acid, Nitric Acid or Phosphoric Acid are the most corrosive.
Organic (Carboxylic) Acids less so ( Such a lemon juice).
