All the colleges and  the branches are not of the same ranking so I have made the preferance order of the choices you should opt for before going to the counselling on the basis of these two conditions.

Civil , Roorkee ( best stream among all IITs here )

Industrial Engineering , Kharagpur ( 4 yr. )

Chemical Engineering, kharagpur ( 5 yr. )

Metallurgical, Kharagpur

Materials and Metallurgical Engineering , kanpur
Production and Industrial, Roorkee

Civil, Kanpur ( 5 yr. )

The best bok has to be ‘Modern Appraoch to Chemical Calculations’ by RC Mukherjee and the other one I’d suggest is ‘Physical Chemistry’ by OP Tandon.

You can go for R.C.Mukherjee or P.Bahadur’s Numerical Chemistry. I think both are good books. I refer R.C.Mukherjee.
