Always right hand side dimension should be equal to the right hand side dimension.
Also, If two quantities are getting subtracted, then the dimension should be equal.
So, this gives us that the dimension og b is that of power i.e. ML2T-3.
Now,x^{2}/atshould also have the dimension of power, which gives a as M-1T2.
