actually the stars dont twinkle , the stars emit light , this light rays when interferred with the atmosphere of earth , they undergo a phenomenon called refraction . the atmosphere of earth contains different layers of different density , when the light from the star gets into this layers , it gets continously refracted and then enter our eyes , due to this continous refraction of light , stars appear to twinkle
