take example of tightening tyre of car, as we go tightening the bolt ,the frictional force acting on bolt gets increasing and thus more force is required that depends on no. of groves in nut or bolt.

by tightening a but on a bolt, you in crease the surface area of contact between them,and since contact between them increases, the constituent particles can interact more to produce greater friction. :)
