How potential is work done per unit charge in an electrostatic field? i.e V=W/q but its potential energy(of the charge) is =F.d =W (i.e.work done on the unit positive test charge is stored in it as potential energy) i.e. V=W but how it is V=W/q (in an electrostatic field)

How potential is work done per unit charge in an electrostatic field?
i.e V=W/q
but its potential energy(of the charge) is =F.d
                                                           =W
(i.e.work done on the unit positive test charge is stored in it as potential energy)
i.e. V=W
but how it is V=W/q    (in an electrostatic field)

Hello
See V is just the potential.
For actual potential ENERGY of a charge located with charge Q
we need to multiply it by Q
so VQ
Work is energy
W=VQ
V=W/Q
Thanks & Regards
