Since because of metal field inside the plated will be 0. Hence it would not affect the field in between

Dear Student
Let cross sectional area of parallel plate capacitor is A, seperation between plates is d then, capacitance of capacitor is C = epselon *A /d .......(1)
now a metal sheet of thickness d/2 is inserted between the plates. then, capacitance of capacitor is given by,
C’ = 2*epselon *A /d.....(2)
from equations (1) and (2),
we can say that C' = 2C
hence, after inserting metal sheet of thickness half of seperation between plates , capacitance of capacitor becomes double.

Since thin strip is introduced with the condition of touching them so it is diagonally kept, touching upper point of one and lower of other plates, so as we know joining by conductors make them at same potential so Q=C*V and V=0 so C tends to infinity
