If any object is travelling at a constant acceleration i.e. 5m/s/s then the distance covered by that object after 4s as per the formula S=ut+0.5att is 40m but if I calculate the same through v=u+at the same is coming to 50m.

Will apprecite if you can explain where my understanding is wrong.

Dear Swarnendu Sengupta,

Ans:- I think you want a long walk in fresh air. It would refresh your mind and you will not do silly mistakes again.

S=0.5×5×4²=40 m   OK

Then v=0+(5×4)=20m/s

Let the ditance travelled by it is=X

dear donga, On the top of mountain, value of ‘g’ is less. Period of oscillation,there period of oscillation increases and clock loses time.

Sir,The final velocity of a particle falling freely under gravity is given by V^2-u^2=2gx where x is the distance covered. If V=18kmph g=1000cms^-2 x=120cm the u = ms^-1
Just put all the values simply to get the value of u. Therefore, V^2 – u^2 = 2*g*x (18 * 1000 * 100/60*60)^2 = u^2 + 2*1000*120 u^2 = 250000 – 240000 u^2 = 10,000 u = 100 cm/s
