### The force on an object, acting along the x axis, aries as shown in the figure. Determine the work done by the force to move the object (a) from x=10.0m, and (b) from x=0.0 to x=15.0m.

Note: The answer suppose to be

A)      2.8 X 103 J

B)      2.1 x 103 J

.....the line where the 13.5 is kind of threw me off.... I'm assuming its 13.5 rather than 14.

a)    W  =    (1/2)(3)(400) + (7 - 3)(400) + (1/2)(10 - 7)(400)

=    2800 J

b)   W  =     W0-10 + W10-15

=    2800 + (1/2)(12 - 10)(-200) + (13.5 - 12)(-200) + (1/2)(15 - 13.5)(-200)

=   2150 J
