sir, please tell me how important are the marks of 12th board ACTUALLY in terms of getting admission in a good college ?? i know that we require an aggregate of atleast 60 % in PCM for almost all competitive exams......but are there colleges or institutions which take students directly in terms of board marks basis ???

Most of the compitative exam has minimum qualifing marks in 12th is 60%.such as in IIT JEE you must have 60 % marks in your board exma to appear in IIT JEE .
most of the good college admit student through compitative exam. in private institution you can directly get admission through 12th marks besis.
BITS college one of the top colleges in india admit students through BITSAT but it will also admit board toppers and all those who have achieved first rank at their respective boards level in class 12th are guaranteed direct admission to any BITS program of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT score.
