If you are not interested in chemical engineering and want to shift to civil engineering, this option is reliable.The risks in this process are first of all such branch changing option should be available at NIT calicut and moreover you have to met required criteria for branch change (i.e.CGPA >8) and most importantly there should be vacancies in the civil department. If there is no problem in all these then you can shift to your interested branch i.e. civil.
