Auto reduction process is used in the preparation of Co, Hg and Pb etc. which are less electropositive metal e.g.,

                 2HgS + 3O2 ----> 2HgO + 2SO2

                2HgO + HgS -----> 3Hg + SO2

 This process is also called autoreduction process or air reduction process. The sulphide ores of less electropositive metals like Hg, Pb, Cuetc., are heated in air as to convert part of the ore into oxide or sulphate which then reacts with the remaining sulphide ore to give the metal and sulphur dioxide. No external reducing agent is used in this process.
It’s first option i.e, Cu and Hg
